Meet 13-year-old Nadezhda Gaj, a rising star in competitive dance and the reigning Canadian Junior Latin Champion with her partner Daniel Reunov. Training 25 hours a week at her family’s Dance Stream Studio in Vaughan, Marielle is preparing to represent Canada at the WDSF Latin World Championship in Romania on Sept. 14 and the Junior World Dance Championships in Slovakia later this month. Supported by the Youth Educational Sport and Dance Organization, Marielle and her family aim to push competitive dance to new heights while advocating for its recognition as an Olympic sport.
